Let's create a new graphic file.

1, In command line, we input new (new graphics commands) or qnew (Fast New command).
2,    The system will automatically pop up a "graphic template dialog", this dialog provides the AutoCAD system with a variety of graphics models, but also with our own build graphical model. We can use the system coming with a template, or find our own previously saved template in the "Look", and use. Here we can directly use "acad.dwt" template and click to Open.
3, Therefore,we created a new graphic file. The drawing boundaries, text styles, dimension styles, etc in this graphic file is provided by acad.dwt drawing template. Note: If we do not want to use a template to create the file.In "Select Template" dialog box, click the drop-down triangle behind "Open" button .Choose one of these three options, the "open", "No template Open - Imperial", "No Template Open - Metric " in the drop-down list.
